Cushing Terrell Welcomes Dierdre Crowl as Federal Business Development Director
Crowl will manage the firm’s business development efforts across the federal market while expanding and deepening client and partner relationships.

Multidisciplinary design firm Cushing Terrell welcomes Dierdre Crowl, MBA, CAP, OM to its government team as Federal Business Development Director. She will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and cultivating client relationships throughout the federal sphere. In partnership with firm leadership and government design directors, she will craft strategic outreach efforts and work to uncover alignment between government industry needs and Cushing Terrell’s design services and expertise.
“With my background in strategic business development, association leadership, and stakeholder engagement, I work to bring people together to create mutually beneficial partnerships,” Crowl said. “My experience in the AEC industry, along with my time as a client account manager for federal and state agencies, will lend well to my role with Cushing Terrell. I’m thrilled to join a team that shares my dedication to people-centered projects, relational currency, and a ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos.”
Crowl has more than 20 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, which has included cross-functional strategy, board leadership, and building client and community experiences that deepen impact and belonging. She has partnered with boards, executives, and diverse stakeholders and is recognized for her strategic thinking, governance fluency, ability to create alignment to mission in times of evolution and growth, and her genuine commitment to positive outcomes.
Prior to joining Cushing Terrell, Crowl held roles of increasing responsibility with KCI, an engineering services firm based in Maryland. Her roles included assistant chief knowledge officer, pursuit manager, and most recently, business development director. Crowl has served as board chair and president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, has served on the executive committee of the United Way of Central Maryland’s Leaders United, and is a current member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the Commercial Real Estate Women Network. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from McDaniel College and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
