Cushing Terrell Welcomes Amy Washburn as the Firm’s Chief People Officer

Washburn joins Cushing Terrell’s executive leadership team in a newly created role responsible for setting and driving the firm’s people strategy as it relates to performance, growth, and culture.

Multidisciplinary design firm Cushing Terrell welcomes Amy Washburn to its team as Chief People Officer. Washburn fills a newly created role critical to ensuring a people-first culture as the firm continues its growth trajectory. Washburn will provide oversight, vision, and strategy for Human Resources (HR) operations and the full employee experience at the firm, including talent acquisition and retention, benefits, career development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.

Washburn has 25 years of experience leading workforce strategy and organizational transformation for industry-leading, global companies. Having held senior-level leadership roles at Comcast and Aramark, Washburn has a distinguished track record of building scalable HR operating models and navigating complex, multi-state growth. She blends human-centered insights with executive-level business acumen to evolve modern workplace cultures and strengthen succession pipelines.

Washburn has a Master of Education in Adult Learning and Distance Education and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior. She is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional, a certified Prosci Change Practitioner, and an Insights Discovery Practitioner.

Washburn takes over the responsibilities previously held by Tammy Jones, Cushing Terrell’s Director of Human Resources, who will retire at the end of 2026 after 22 years with the firm.
