Meet Cushing Terrell’s New Associate Principals

Tom Calla | Architect & Director of Healthcare Design | Boise, Idaho

Tom is an architect and co-director of Cushing Terrell’s healthcare design group. With more than three decades as an architect and 25 years dedicated to healthcare design, he brings in-depth experience shaped by his passion for creating spaces that support healing and wellness. Tom is focused on elevating the firm’s healthcare design team — championing innovative thinking and design solutions, building strong client relationships, and delivering projects that align with the ever-evolving needs of healthcare providers and the communities they serve. Tom is driven by the belief that successful healthcare projects are realized through collaboration and working closely with clients to solve the needs of patients and medical staff.

“Being promoted to associate principal is a great honor. It feels good to be acknowledged in this way, and I’m excited to join the dedicated and talented group of principals and associate principals at Cushing Terrell,” Tom said. “My goal is to help our leadership continue to keep Cushing Terrell on the cutting edge of our industry, and keep our compass pointed toward the future.”

Dane Jorgensen | Structural Engineer | Billings, MT

Dane is a structural engineer with 17 years of experience supporting projects across markets, including commercial, government, infrastructure, and retail. Dane is a structural engineering service sector group leader, providing overall guidance and mentorship. He brings a passion not only for structural engineering but also for the holistic and integrated design process. Dane believes client visions and goals are best accomplished when everyone on a project team understands and works toward those same goals. In addition to service sector leadership, Dane contributes to the firm’s quality management task force and several communities of practice. His goal is to continue to strengthen the firm’s integrated design processes and help implement strategies that enhance operational excellence.

“As an associate principal, I’m looking forward to strengthening our integrated design processes, to identify and implement strategies to improve our operational excellence, and to continue to grow Cushing Terrell’s impressive portfolio of larger, collaborative projects,” Dane said.

Sandi Rudy | Interior Designer & Director of Interior Design | Austin, Texas

Sandi is an interior designer and director of Cushing Terrell’s interior design group. Sandi is responsible for the strategic direction of the group, business development, high-level client relationship management, staffing and workload management, mentorship and career development for team members, and the overall success, health, and growth of the service sector. Beyond leading the firm’s dynamic interior design team — recognized as a Rising Giant and Sustainability Giant by Interior Design magazine — Sandi specializes in designing highly functional, adaptive, and inspiring workplaces for high-profile Fortune 500 companies. Her passion for enhancing the human experience in the built environment has influenced her thoughtful, user-focused approach to interior design and has resulted in strong, long-term client relationships and award-winning projects.

“I take pride in being an advocate for others and learning from them, and then approaching solutions with this in mind,” Sandi said. “I hope to bring a unique perspective to the role of associate principal and look forward to what this position can mean for me and for others in the future.”

Jesse Vigil | Director of Residential Design, and Location Director | Missoula, Montana

Jesse is an architect, co-director of Cushing Terrell’s residential design group, and the location director for Missoula and southwest Montana. His design focus includes custom homes, hospitality, and resort communities. He is known for creating refined, highly personal spaces that reflect each client’s lifestyle, aspirations, and sense of place. With a thoughtful, service-driven approach, Jesse guides clients through the design process with care, translating vision into homes that feel both timeless and deeply individual. His past experience also includes leading large government projects and term contracts throughout the United States and Asia, bringing a strong foundation of leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving to every project.

“As a new associate principal at Cushing Terrell, I’m committed to building on the leadership legacy that has defined our firm, helping to guide our residential design studio — and the firm more broadly — into the future,” Jesse said. “As the profession continues to evolve in response to emerging technologies, affordability challenges, and population growth, I look forward to shaping that future with clarity, purpose, and vision.”
