Billings Clinic Bozeman Campus – Ambulatory Care Facilities

This project — the first phase of Billings Clinic’s 58-acre Bozeman campus — comprises approximately 125,000 sq. ft. of ambulatory care facilities, including a three-story Ambulatory Care Center and single-story Ambulatory Surgery Center, to meet the needs of the growing population of Gallatin Valley.

Extensive research went into assessing the needs of the region, including a feasibility study based on projected growth, which directed the overall master plan for the campus. The goal of the project was to create a state-of-the-art patient care experience focused on innovation, ease of access, a dispersed flexible layout, space sharing, community involvement, and collaborative uses with an employee-friendly, family-oriented ethos.

The design utilizes a universal clinic model allowing providers to “flex” spaces depending upon the patient-care needs, while the site is leveraged to enhance daylighting and showcase views of the nearby mountain ranges for the benefit of patients, providers, and staff.

The campus will include OBGYN; ophthalmology; orthopedics; physical and occupational therapy; urology; vascular/gastrointestinal; ear, nose, and throat; imaging; urgent care; primary care; and specialty clinics, as well as a conference center, retail, and infusion pharmacies. Additionally, the campus will house outreach services from Billings Clinic and access to Mayo Clinic specialists through Billings Clinic’s Mayo Clinic Care Network affiliation and other partnerships.

This project was a partnership between EYP as the associate architect/healthcare planner and Cushing Terrell as the architect of record.
