On the Boards: Pacific Northwest Seafood Restaurant

As our Retail design studio expands into the Food & Beverage space, the team has been developing new concepts, including the design for a new seafood-focused restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. The overall design is meant to provide an immersive, cozy aesthetic with warm lighting and seating arrangements that create an elevated yet comfortable environment for enjoying drinks and a meal while taking in the views of Puget Sound.

The design began with a series of circulation studies and the selection of finishes, furnishings, and light fixtures to evoke the desired aesthetic. The layout places the bar and dining spaces adjacent to the building’s exterior floor-to-ceiling windows and maximizes efficient circulation within the kitchen and service areas. As the floorplan evolved, so too did opportunities to showcase the more extravagant finishes while providing warm wood touchpoints that reinforce the feeling of comfort. Sleek lines and natural materials combine with more luxurious materials and dramatic hues to create a singular experience.
