National Grocery Store Refrigeration Survey
Cushing Terrell assisted a major national grocery chain with a multi-store survey of refrigeration as-built drawings as they prepared to add beverage cases in a phased rollout. The client needed surveys of 83 stores to determine if drawings existed, if they were adequate to plan for beverage case installation, or if additional information and drawings were needed.
The survey team mobilized quickly, traveling to store locations across California to perform the surveys. Information collected allowed designers to generate a complete set of refrigeration as-builts for the store to accommodate the beverage cases. Cushing Terrell also provided a summary of each refrigeration system’s conditions. The team completed the design to incorporate the beverage case as specified on the fixture plan provided by the client. The finished designs were then used in bidding and installation of the beverage cases.
The project expanded when the client added several sites in another state to the survey. The Cushing Terrell team completed the entire project in three months, exceeding the client’s expectations and moving their beverage case project ahead of schedule.
