Cushing Terrell Promotes Fran Quiram to Principal

Quiram joins senior leadership team of multidisciplinary design firm Cushing Terrell.

Fran Quiram, Architect, Project Manager, and Principal

Fran Quiram, project manager and architect, has been named principal, joining Cushing Terrell’s senior leadership team. Quiram was promoted to principal due to her commitment to some of the firm’s most impactful project-management-level initiatives, including serving as co-leader of the firm’s architectural service sector and leader of the firm’s quality management/quality control program.

“Fran is a dedicated steward of our firm and our clients,” President and CEO Greg Matthews said. “She has committed herself not only to Cushing Terrell’s architecture service sector but also to developing and implementing a robust QM/QC program across service sectors, ensuring we deliver excellence when it comes to all our projects. A big part of her success comes from her ability to impart knowledge, ownership, and excitement through her role as a mentor and team builder. Her energy and spirit positively impact everyone she encounters.”

“At Cushing Terrell, we strive for industry excellence, and it has been my honor to support this effort through a commitment to quality and ensuring team members have the tools and knowledge they need, as well as supporting a culture dedicated to client service,” Quiram said. “As a principal, I plan to continue my focus on quality — quality in terms of our projects, workplace, and the intentional relationships we nurture with clients and partners. I am beyond thankful to be part of the Cushing Terrell team and in a position to help shape the future of our firm.”

Quiram joined Cushing Terrell in 2008 as a design professional focused on residential and education projects. She became a licensed architect in 2014, and today, her work spans almost every market in which the firm works — commercial, education, government, healthcare, and residential. Additionally in 2014, Quiram helped establish the firm’s project management leadership group, which was restructured and defined as a primary focus of the Cushing Terrell Board of Directors. She continues to co-lead this group, working to advance efficiencies and improvements across the firm. In 2020, she was promoted to associate principal and in 2021, she began leading the firm’s quality management group.

Based in Kalispell, Montana, some of Quiram’s favorite projects include those close to home, many of which were delivered for Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC). For example, she has served as the project manager for the FVCC nursing building, student housing, a library expansion, and the most recent Wachholz College Center

“One of the best things about my 15-year career at Cushing Terrell has been the opportunities afforded to me for professional growth and the diverse project types and clients we get to experience. As a principal, I look forward to playing an even greater role in ensuring this same experience for my fellow team members,” Quiram said.
