Kevin Stewart, Food and Beverage Design Studio Director

Cushing Terrell welcomes Kevin Stewart as director of the firm’s Food and Beverage Design Studio. Stewart brings more than 20 years of experience to the Cushing Terrell team, ranging from hospitality, food and beverage, and cultural projects to commercial office, mixed-use, multi-family, and single-family residential projects.

Stewart will support Cushing Terrell’s strategic goal to expand its food and beverage work for clients across the United States. This will involve increasing awareness of the firm’s project experience and multidisciplinary capabilities, continuing to grow the food and beverage team, and identifying opportunities to support current and new clients with their project needs.

“We’re excited to bring Kevin on board to focus specifically on food and beverage opportunities,” said Sheri Blattel, Associate Principal and Co-Director of Cushing Terrell’s Retail Design Studio. “His work is incredibly varied and interesting, all with the common element of realizing immersive user experiences and compelling destinations. With our firm’s in-depth experience in retail, as well as team members focused on hospitality, under Kevin’s leadership, we plan to harness this talent for extraordinary projects.”

“The experience of people enjoying food and drink together is one of the greatest pleasures in life and designing these types of gathering spaces are some of my favorite projects,” said Stewart. “Joining Cushing Terrell was the perfect opportunity for me to focus on this area of design, while growing the firm’s presence in the market, and working within a larger, collaborative team of architects, engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects. Our work will celebrate food, gathering, and community.”

Prior to joining Cushing Terrell, Stewart was the principal and founder of his own architecture firm, Design Hound, based in Austin, Texas. Earlier, he worked for several architecture firms in Texas and Arizona, serving in the roles of project manager and project architect, as well as leading marketing, client relations, and staff management and development. He has experience in all aspects of the design process, from conceptual design and production to construction documents and contractor team management. He is a Registered Architect in the states of Arizona, Idaho, and Texas.
