Cushing Terrell Promotes Nine Team Members as the Firm’s Newest Associates

New associates demonstrate the energy, activism, community engagement, and design excellence of our team.

Cushing Terrell, a multi-disciplinary architecture, engineering, and interior design firm, is proud to announce the promotion of nine team members to the role of associate. These team members come from across the firm’s locations and serve clients in a variety of markets. In addition to strengthening client relationships and leading projects, teams, and strategy, they’re highly engaged in industry organizations and their communities.

“These team members continually push our firm forward in the best ways possible. They stand out for bringing new ideas to the table with both the plans and teams to successfully execute on those ideas,” President Greg Matthews says. “We always want to proactively gain new knowledge and expertise, and then bring it back to our clients and their projects. These individuals excel in this area, and it gives me great pleasure to congratulate them on their promotions.”

Meet Cushing Terrell’s New Associates

Ronda Carlson, AIA, LEED BD+C, CPTED | Architect | Billings

Ronda has 25 years of experience as a project architect on a diverse range of building types including commercial, education, government, industrial, and mixed use. For the past seven years, she’s led teams focused on education projects throughout Montana and Wyoming. Through this work, she gained an increased awareness of the need for thoughtful security design strategies, not only in schools but across the project spectrum. Having completed basic training to become a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioner, she helps drive change in the physical and social environment to reinforce positive behavior and reduce crime.

Amanda Herzberg | Communications and Brand Strategy Manager | Seattle

Amanda is a strategic communicator with experience building brands and executing marketing campaigns. Leveraging the power of storytelling, she helps shape content strategies and digital marketing efforts to create memorable, branded experiences. Thinking beyond conversion rates, Amanda focuses on articulating value and sharing stories with purpose. Her creative vision and in-depth marketing experience have elevated the firm’s presence and visibility in the external sphere with exponential growth over the last three years. Additionally, she’s led efforts to communicate more effectively internally and better utilize our communications platforms. Always curious to increase her knowledge of communications strategy and the AEC industry, she’s a member and education committee volunteer with SMPS, and a member of ULI Seattle and ICSC.

Cory Jassen, PE, LEED AP | Mechanical Engineer | Great Falls

Cory leads the mechanical engineering work out of our Great Falls office. He specializes in functional, energy efficient HVAC designs that optimize comfort, cost, and ease of maintenance. As a certified Healthcare Facility Design Professional with a focus on hospital HVAC systems, Cory has been the lead HVAC engineer on many of our healthcare projects at Cushing Terrell. Additionally, he has expertise specific to compounding-pharmacy design and the engineering controls required for these projects. Prior to joining our firm, he worked for an energy conservation consulting firm near Hartford, Connecticut, and as a facility engineer for a biotechnology company in Massachusetts.

Rebecca Muchow, AIA, LEED AP | Architect | Minneapolis

With a lifelong curiosity about design, ideation, and creation, Rebecca has 16 years of experience as a project architect with a focus on sustainable design solutions. Her passion is combining client service with simple, elegant, environmentally responsible design. With her project experience and sustainable design knowledge, she’s a key team member for projects across all markets Cushing Terrell serves. Additionally, some of her past work has included historic preservation projects and managing sustainability and LEED certification efforts. Rebecca is passionate about mentoring others, being active in her local architecture community, and advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity in our firm and the larger industry.

Ashleigh Powell, AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Director of Sustainability | Austin

Ashleigh is a designer and passionate leader of our firm and project commitments to sustainability. From conceptual design through construction, she works with clients and teams to identify appropriate and effective sustainable design strategies. She manages all aspects of project delivery for clients seeking third-party green building certification under programs such as LEED, Green Globes, and Austin Energy Green Building. As a trusted advisor to some of our largest clients, she’s worked closely with their internal teams to develop and pioneer their own corporate sustainability programs. She co-leads Cushing Terrell’s Green Advocacy Council, dedicated to advancing the firm’s sustainability commitments and helped develop our own Sustainable Design Initiative, a compilation of best practice design strategies aimed at promoting environmental stewardship, human health and wellness, resilience, and equity.

Todd Schaper | Project Manager and Architect | Missoula

Todd oversees project development, scheduling, team communication, and overall project management for a variety of project types. In addition to being adept at developing and maintaining project expectations, his role as a project manager includes putting in place the appropriate staff and resources to complete projects through all stages. With 25 years of experience, Todd has worked as a contractor as well as an architect. This dual experience has given him unique insights and communication skills to support clients as well as critical decision-making skills that result in successful projects.

Stacey Speck | Regional Marketing Director | Austin

Stacey serves as regional marketing director for Cushing Terrell and is instrumental in advancing business development for Cushing Terrell’s Austin office. Stacey bridges the gap across markets, geographies, public, and private sectors and has worked with various architects, designers, and clients — from large international firms and real estate companies to local non-profits. In addition to marketing and BD, she has a background in graphic design (logos, signage, and websites design) and collateral development. Stacey is actively engaged in community service and industry advocacy outside the office. She currently serves as the nominating committee chair for the Dispute Resolution Center Board and on committees for The Austin American Heart Association and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Randi Thomas, IIDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP | Senior Interior Designer and Pacific Northwest Studio Director | Boise

Randi leads Cushing Terrell’s interior design group for the Pacific Northwest region. Although she has experience on a multitude of project types, she remains particularly passionate about experiential learning/education spaces and high-performing workplace interiors. She enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with team members and clients across the country and experience their regional insights and influences, which she often weaves into her work. Outside the office, she has been heavily involved with the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter since 2011, serving as president in 2020. Under her leadership, the chapter earned recognition as one of the top performing IIDA chapters for their dedication to creating community and advancing the profession.

Tyler Victorino, PE, LEED AP | Electrical Engineer | Boise

Tyler is an electrical engineer who manages the Boise electrical team. He specializes in lighting design and renewable energy projects, specifically solar with credentials in photovoltaics as a North American Board Certified Energy Practitioner. He supports some of our biggest tech clients with projects across our locations in the U.S. as well as in South America. With his bilingual abilities, Tyler has had assignments for Dell in Panama, Mexico, and Chile that required designs in both English and Spanish. Additionally, he has contributed to projects for Engineers Without Borders, provided bro-bono solar work for local nonprofits, such as the Boise Bicycle Project, and founded Wempo Energy with his wife, Leah, an organization that aims to build a more balanced, inclusive, and efficient energy sector by promoting women entrepreneurs.
